一個遠渡重洋到歐洲北端的台灣女孩,因對設計的熱情而飄盪到丹麥;因千里之緣遇見一個丹麥男生,而這丹麥男生隨著這異國情緣,遠渡重洋來到北半球南端的台灣。

A Taiwanese girl flied far away to the north part of Europe. She enthused for the design to Denmark. Because of the fate she met a Dane boy. However, the Dane flied far away to the south part of north hemisphere because he fell in love with the Taiwanese girl.

    緣分這東西很奇妙,常因它帶來的巧遇感到驚喜連連;也因它的如風飄逸的腳步而感到嘆聲呼呼。但不管如何相逢即是有緣,無關明日,只有當下。這日本概念的文句再次應景浮現「一期一會」,把遇見的人當成今生僅有這一次,用最大的誠意去對待對方。

Fate is amazing. People are surprised at the meet someone special but people are also frustrated about the leaving. However, the fate brings people together. People only have to do is enjoy the moment you hang out with friends. Just like Japanese say : One life offers one chance to meet someone. It means that you have to treat anyone who you meet just like only one chance in all life. So you have to try your best to treat anyone you meet.

After having a small talk with this Dane friend. I found the pronunciation of his family name is the same as the Nantou county of Taiwan. There is only one alphabet different. His family name is Nantow. It’s an amazing coincident. Then, I found he brought a calligraphy brush and a water-writing paper. I asked them do you want to write calligraphy. They said yes at the same time. Looked at a blond hair, blue eyes foreigner writing Chinese words with calligraphy brush is marvelous. After they finished the writing, I asked them to cover the stamps which mean Lugu story house in Chinese and a black dragon picture on their writing paper. A blond hair foreigner, black words, a piece of white paper and red stamp constitute a mix Taiwanese and exotic atmosphere. Then, I asked him to try a big calligraphy brush on a huge water-writing paper one the ground. Surprised at his concentration on writing. It seems like he danced with calligraphy.

    在他們入住的第二天早上,剛好遇見沿途叫賣的菜車,這南投先生好奇的趨近菜車,呼著北方國度曾見過的蔬菜名,也好奇著一些專屬南方的蔬菜,沒多久,燃起他久未操持的廚藝。我提議,晚上可以由母親跟他一起煮菜,當天晚上果真上映著一場丹麥男生vs台灣媽媽的廚藝交流,這場有趣的廚藝交織難得幾回有啊!

On the second day morning of hostel, here came a truck which sells vegetables and fruit. Mr. Nantow curious about the truck then came closely to it. He said some familiar names of vegetables and wonder some vegetable which belong to south countries. Suddenly, he had an idea want to cook for dinner. I suggested he could cook with my mother. In the evening, there was a Dane boy vs. Taiwanese mom cooking show on air in the kitchen. It seldom happens in the daily life.

    與其數次交談中,他覺得台灣人較丹麥人熱情,且他有個看法,他認為丹麥的福利很好,所以百姓鮮少需要互相幫忙,時間久了,大家習於自掃門前雪了!但他們的社會福利雖好,但所得稅率卻是百分之五十,真的蠻重的。

Mr. Nantow thinks Taiwanese are much more than Dane. It’s because there is a nice welfare system in Denmark. And people don’t need to help each other. However, although there is a good welfare system in Denmark, people have to pay fifty percentage of income as tax to government. It’s incredible.

    他們臨走前用草書寫了對句送他們,內容是「藍摩千里尋亮融;頭白偕老創良緣。」用句首的單字取了個諧音,及藍頭引申為南投,算是一場國民外交剛好的句點。也祝福他們幸福美滿。

Before they left, I wrote a couplet for them. The content is Mr. Nantow looks for his girlfriend from thousands of miles away. They will grow old together. The pronunciation of the first character of first sentence is Nan. The pronunciation of the first character of second sentence is Tau/Tow. Maybe it’a nice end of this people-to-people diplomacy. Bless they have a wonder life.
